Is Justin Trudeau the Canadian version of Robin Hood ???

 Honestly this is a question I've been having inside of my head since a couple of days ago, because it seemed to me that every single  promise of his  campaign has being accomplished and each one  has a similar approach  to the ones so well known by the character of the children story: "Robin Hood".

In this regard, on the past July 20, 2016, Liberal Prime Minister announced the cancellation of taxes and benefits to the upper class, even including the "child universal care benefit",  and just announced the introduction of the new child care benefits program, popularly known as "CCB" - child care benefits.

It should be noted that with the new program, nine out of ten families will receive more benefits than the program implemented by former Prime Minister Stephen Harper thus explained that in the case of a family of four, they receive $ 2,500 more aid per calendar year.

This generous project reached enormous popularity since the project removed the social assistance to those high-income families who have enough monetary conditions  to cover the costs of children and infants members of their families, so this program is redirecting resources specifically to lower income social sectors.

Just as this program is based on the money income of the families acquired by calendar year, it has allowed the identification of the neediest social segments and thus provide a greater contribution to those in need.

By way, examples of  these include families include: single parent families, low-income families or families with parents with more than one job.

Importantly, this program will remove more than 315,000 Canadian children outside their current state of poverty.

Please take a look of the following explanatory chart of the new program of child benefits.

Families with a child
Annual Income      Plan Trudeau     Harper's Plan

$ 15.000                   $ 6.400                  $ 5.825
$ 45.000                   $ 5.380                  $ 3.350
$ 90.000                   $ 3.245                  $ 2.125
$ 140.000                 $ 1.695                  $ 1.500
$ 200,000                  $ 0                         $ 1.425

Families with two children
Annual Income     Plan Trudeau     Harper's Plan

$ 15.000                   $ 11.800               $ 10.175
$ 45.000                   $ 9.850                 $ 5.900
$ 90.000                   $ 5.875                 $ 3.300
$ 140.000                 $ 3.125                 $ 2.050
$ 200,000                 $ 0                         $ 1.950

From the above tables it shows that the maximum benefit is $ 6,400 per year for each child under six years. And of $ 5,400 per year per child in age from six to seventeen. Payments otherwise tax-free.

One of the most dramatic changes this program expresses is that the benefit is completely eliminated when family income reaches about $ 190,000 per year.

The above modifications were made after studies showed that options for child care are varied, as these range from babysitters, day care centres, homes, preschool programs before and after regular school services.

Statistics even show that finding the most suitable childcare arrangement may prove to be a challenge, since parents often feel the need to balance the overall quality, comfort, availability and cost of child care.

The latest statistics used and mentioned, indicated that almost half (46%) of parents reported using some form of care. It is the most often children 2 to 4 years old, for about six out of ten of these parents had some type of child care arrangement for their children.

Rates were also high, although somewhat lower, for parents with children aged 5 to 7 years.

These children are typically in the school system, but need care in the morning before the school stars, and / or after the end of the school day.
Some interesting facts are that the province of Quebec, is the one that reported to parents with higher rates of child care, on the other hand Manitoba reported the lowest rate, and the province of Alberta record a rate of 40 %.

In Canada, provincial and territorial governments are primarily responsible for child care and, as such, specific care policies vary across the country.
Among all provinces, Quebec system is considered the most unique because it is the only province that has a universal program for child daycare, where the cost of child care is subsidized.

Now regardless of the exceptions, the new benefit plan will cost $ 22.4 billion dollars for the next five years, and will not be indexed to inflation until 2020.

After this analysis and presentation of information, the re-direction of resources to those most in need, in an attempt to reduce the gap between social classes, as well as to allow low-income families have more access to money paying extra for programs snacks or school trips.

After all this I insist, and I can not do anything but ask me again if this project, which will reduce the poverty rate from 11.2% to 6.7%, is not a faithful representation of a state run by Robin Hood, and if it is, this is definitely a new name and that name is Justin Trudeau.
